Water For Elephants is a dramatic movie about a veterinary student who abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet. The movie stars Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Hal Holbrook, Jim Norton, and Ken Foree. It was shot on location in some of the farm country of California as well as in Chattanooga, Tennessee which will most likely be some enjoyable background scenery for anyone who is a nature lover.
Water for Elephants is an upcoming 2011 drama film based on Sara Gruen's novel of the same name. It is directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Robert Pattinson as Jacob Jankowski, Reese Witherspoon as Marlena and Christoph Waltz as August.[1][2] Hal Holbrook will play the older Jacob Jankowski, Jim Norton as Camel, and  Ken Foree as Earl.
Below are some brief summaries about the movie:
From Wikipedia.com: As a young man, Jacob Jankowski (Pattinson) was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was the early part of the Great Depression, and for Jacob (Holbrook), now ninety, the circus world he remembers was both his salvation and a living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, (Witherspoon) the beautiful equestrian star married to August (Waltz), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant and the only hope for this third-rate traveling show.
From Moviefone.com: Based on the acclaimed bestseller, ‘Water For Elephants’ presents an unexpected romance in a uniquely compelling setting. Veterinary student Jacob meets and falls in love with Marlena; a star performer in a circus of a bygone era. They discover beauty amidst the world of the Big Top, and come together through their compassion for a special elephant. Against all odds – including the wrath of Marlena’s charismatic but dangerous husband, August – Jacob and Marlena find lifelong love.
From moviefever.com: During the Great Depression, Jacob, a penniless and recently-orphaned veterinary school student, parlays his expertise with animals into a job with a second-rate traveling circus. He falls in love with Marlena, one of the show’s star performers, but their romance is complicated by Marlena’s husband, the charismatic but unbalanced circus boss.
