Heart Beach re-opens tomorrowFun-loving families will be able to enjoy a daytrip to the seaside with a difference once again when the popular Heart Country Park and Beach re-opens for the summer season.
Heart Country Park and Beach is re-opening again on Saturday, April 9 for another six months of fun just a few miles from Coventry city centre. The beach, which is based at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Meriden Road, Fillongley, features a man-made sandy beach, lake, swan pedaloes and refreshments thanks to entrepreneur Stephen Hammon. Stephen, Managing Director of Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, said he was confident this would be the best season yet for the Heart Country Park and Beach. “We have had a huge amount of favourable feed-back from families who love being able to travel to a beach which is virtually on their doorstep rather than having to travel a couple of hours to the seaside,” he said. “It is popular every day of the week with parents and grandparents bringing young children along to build sandcastles, paddle in the lake or take out one of the pedaloes onto the lake. “It really is a great family day out and gives adults and children the chance to hopefully enjoy the sunshine and have a relaxing day without being too far from home. “In 2010 we also had 4,000 local school children come along to enjoy fun, educational visits to the beach and walk in our 65 acres of woodland. “The beach has also proved really popular with delegates wanting to head there for post-event drinks after a busy day inside our conference centre. “Heart Country Park and Beach has definitely become one of our unique selling points and our staff have put a great deal of thought and effort into making this a site which people want to visit time and time again. “One of those ideas was to attract anglers. We have had 421 lb worth of carp delivered to put into the lake for fishing to attract anglers of all ages to give people another reason to visit. Those who love the great outdoors will be in seventh heaven fishing for carp in our lake. “We are hoping the weather will be kind to us once again over the coming months and that we will attract new and old visitors. “We have kept ticket prices the same as last year because we appreciate these are tough financial times for everyone.” Ticket prices are £9 for adults, £7 for children aged five to 17-years-old, £5 for senior citizens and disabled people, free for the under-fives and £25 for a family ticket for two adults and three children. Heart Park and Beach is open every day from 10am until 5pm.
