Macclesfield hotel under new management companyForty jobs have been taken under the wing of one of the sector’s leading management companies after a hotel on the edge of the Peak District National Park has been taken on by Legacy Hotels and Resorts.
Warwickshire- Andy Townsend, chief executive officer of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said: “I am delighted to have secured this hotel under our management and we have no doubt that we can increase the performance of the business from what is already an established and respected base in the local community. “Its location on the edge of the Peak District National Park makes it an ideal location for visiting the beautiful countryside as well as being within easy reach of Manchester and its suburbs. “The hotel enjoys a good reputation for its weddings and events within the local market place and is expected this year alone to welcome in excess of 50 happy wedding couples. We are confident we can build on its first-class facilities and service to increase business at the property. “We are very pleased with the relationship we have established with the asset owners Clayton Hotels, who for the past few years have operated the business as an independent hotel having left membership with Best Western early last year.” Andy added: “2011 has already been a busy period of growth for us having welcomed the arrival of the Bear Hotel at Hungerford, Berkshire, and nine stunning venues under the Classic Lodges Collection as affiliate hotels. “I anticipate being able to announce the addition of three new properties to Legacy Hotels & Resorts as full management contracts within the next few weeks and we are extremely positive for the coming months with our pipeline of new prospective projects having never been stronger. “With some continued momentum over the next few months I also hope to be able to confirm us as operators for a number of sites which would be run by Legacy Hotels and Resorts yet under an international, branded franchisee agreement – it is quite conceivable for us to, by our various contracts, reach 2,500 guestrooms by the half year.” Media enquiries: Michelle Wilson Advent Communications 2 Edison Building Electric Wharf Sandy Lane Coventry CV1 4JA Tel: 024 7663 3636 http://www.advent- # # # Advent Communications is a well-established public relations consultancy based in Coventry.
