April 5, 2011 - PRLog -- I’m sure some of you have noticed we have a few new faces at the Adams Center.  We are very excited about our new employees and hope you all get the chance to get to know them.  We thought the blog would be a great place to start!

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Ivy moved to Boston with her fiancee after graduating college in South Florida to explore a new path and see what else the world had to offer her.  She has worked for several large plastic surgery practices and is very knowledgeable about the field.  Read on to learn more about Ivy and what she’s most excited about in her new role at the Adams Center!

What is your role at the Adams Center?
I am an office manager for the Boston office on Newbury street.  I also love to meet with patients during their consultation in order to give them the love and care that they deserve.  I believe that going into a surgeons office can be quite nerve wracking for some so I really try to make all patient’s feel like they are part of the Adams Center Family by fostering an environment of support, education and comfort as well as a little bit of fun!  I can guarantee that when you come in to the Boston office you will leave feeling great and looking great with a smile on your face!

What made you take an interest in the field of cosmetic surgery/dermatology?

I just really enjoy how science and technology have been able to preserve the process of aging if one chooses to want to feel fresh and youthful. Many years ago these things didn’t exist and now with a simple 1 hour procedure you can turn back the clock on your appearance by decades. This fascinates me!  It’s also very rewarding to see my patients transform into the version of themselves that they’ve always wanted to be; confident and ready to take on the world with their new fabulous look!

What new procedure or laser are you most excited about in the office right now?

I have one word–VELASHAPE!  I’m sure that many women who read this will relate–I HATE cellulite!  You can be the skinniest person and have the best body but you still have that stubborn cellulite that you can’t get rid of no matter how many hours you spend at the gym.  The Velashape is an amazing non invasive way to get rid of your cellulite permanently and the treatment is so relaxing!  It’s like a warm gentle massage.  Yes, you will have to get several treatments for you to get the optimal result but think of it as part of your maintenance regime.   Personally, I go and have my nails done every 2 weeks….why not have my cellulite removed every 2 weeks too!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I am kind of home a body! When I am not working I really enjoy spending time with my amazing fiancée and our dog and just being a little family. I really enjoy cooking new dishes that I see on the Food Network and watching movies.  I love being outdoors around the fresh air, riding bikes or walking around the Charles River (in the summer of course). I also love Sex in the City and Appletinis!!

Thank you Ivy, and check back for more features on our staff!
