The Brown Hotel Presents Glorious Ride by Jeaneen Barnhart Gallery at The Brown – Derby Art Show

March 31, 2011 - PRLog -- A special Meet the Artist reception is planned for opening night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The reception is free to the public, and will feature complimentary mini hot browns, wine and cheese.

Jeaneen Barnhart’s series of Equine Art features gestural drawings and paintings concentrating on the active horse and rider. “It is my goal to forget what is so familiar and pursue form with a fresh, curious desire balanced with the power and control of a loose line.”

Jeaneen Barnhart is dedicated to the art of drawing on paper, creating works with such diverse line and texture taking on their own dimension. Equine Studies, Male Torsos, Sensual Nudes and Loving Couples encompass her extensive repertoire. Although painting is secondary, successful canvases depict similar qualities of classic drawing style and spirited movement. Her exploration with oil painting continues working with a variety of subject matter including her Full Bodied Wine series, Tulips, Sunflowers, Equine and Figurative works. A Florida native, Jeaneen started painting at an early age along with her twin sister, Doreen. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts painting degree from Alfred University in 1992, Jeaneen joined her sister in Louisville where they currently reside and continue to collaborate on many local and very notable projects including print and poster commissions for: 2010 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Kentucky Derby Bottle, 1994/1997/2009 Kentucky Derby Festival, 1996 PGA Golf Experience, 1999 St James Court Art Show and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Ball Identity.
