Cleaning – 3 hours a day at £9.00 an hour = £9,855
Taxi Driver – An hour a day at £45 an hour = £16,425
Chef – Another hour a day at £20 an hour = £7,300
Nutritionist – A one consultation every week at £45 a time = £2,300
Nurse – One hour a fortnight at £13.00 an hour = £338
Washing – 4 loads of washing, drying & ironing a week at £20 a time = £4,160
Childminder – 20 hours a week at £7.00 an hour = £7,280
PA/Secretary – 3 hours a week at £10 an hour = £1,560
Music Teacher – 30 minutes a week at £25 an hour = £650
Counsellor – 4 hours a week at £45 an hour = £9,360
Hairdresser – 3 hours a week at £10 an hour = £1,560
Finishing School – 30 minutes a week at £145 an hour = £3,770

That’s a total of £64,558 which over 16 years, not allowing for inflation would mean it would cost £1,032,928 to buy in everything that Mum’s do.

This Sunday, Mums up and down the land may, if they’re lucky, get a lie in and be brought a cup of tea in bed. If they’re really lucky they may get taken out for Sunday lunch.  Considering how priceless they are and everything they do for their little darlings, they deserve to be treasured more than one day a year.
