Self Storage Owners Symposium comes to Walnut Creek, CA

March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The rapidly changing regulatory and market demands to operate a California self-storage business highlight the upcoming California Self Storage Association’s 5th annual Owners’ Symposium, April 12 at The Lesher Center in Downtown Walnut Creek, Ca.

The event will include four powerful and stimulating educational sessions along with the popular evening cocktail hour hosted by the event’s 22 vendor sponsors.  Ron Kingston of the California Political Consulting Group will discuss some of the most egregious of the hundreds of pending legislative bills that will have a direct impact on every self-storage owner and operator. Lisa Barnett Sween and Nicole Bolson of the San Francisco law firm of Lewis, Beisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP will review trends in employee litigation and employment practices. The employment law session will discuss some best practices to avoid increasingly common and costly harassment, retaliation and wage and hour claims. Hessam Nadji Managing Director of the Research and Advisory Services of Marcus & Millichap will discuss self storage and general real estate trends along with capital market activity. Nadji has more than 20 years of experience in real estate research and is a frequent guest on both CNBC and Fox business news programs. Cherie Del Carlo of Gather Your Crowd specializes in online marketing, branding and communications. Del Carlo will share ways to use social media technologies as conduits for meaningful small operator interaction and commercial exchange.
