Sunderland Writer E-publishes Short Crime Fiction Collection

March 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Having had many short stories published both in print and online, Morrigan wanted some way to gather them all together in one place. She first began a short story blog, then found out how straightforward it was to self-publish an e-book and made the decision to do just that.

'It was a steep learning curve and a lot of hard work,' said Morrigan. 'But it was also very enjoyable. Steven Miscandlon helped create an eye-catching cover and I think the book looks very professional.'

It has the distinctive flavour of north east England and features a rare cast of characters: flawed, foul-mouthed, misguided and downtrodden, all of whom might be said to have, in one way or another, ‘gone bad’. This is strong stuff, no holds barred and no punches pulled. and gathers together 18 stories, all but one of which have been published before.

Morrigan says: 'Whilst most of the stories have been previously available, many may no longer be read anywhere else and, in fact, this collection is the only place all of these stories may be read together. I also wanted to add value for anyone who was already familiar with my writing, so I took the decision to include a previously unpublished story.'

Gone Bad is this prize-winning UK writer’s first collection of short stories. Over the course of 2011, Julie intends to make more stories available as e-books, and has plans for both further collections of short stories and for full-length novels.
