Salt Lake City, UT - CodaOctopus Colmek is pleased to announce that Brad Ellis has joined the organization as Senior Software Engineer.  In his role at the company he will lead technical development projects which reside on mission critical embedded devices.  Mr. Ellis has prior work experience at Colmek; allowing him the ability to immediately assist with key company programs.      

Most recently Mr. Ellis was employed by L3 Communications where he supported a variety of DoD (Department of Defense), programs.  His work at L3 centered on software defined modems and more recently SoC (System on a Chip) high data rate communications equipment.  While working in the Advanced Communications and DSP group at L3 Mr. Ellis wrote FPGA code for secure military radios. He is a 2002 graduate of Utah State University where he holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in communications/DSP and embedded systems.  Mr. Ellis has worked in a variety of areas ranging from academia (designing and building robots), to commercial (writing embedded code for temperature calibration equipment).  His experience spans from small to large software projects; having programmed 8-bit microprocessors in assembly and C, all the way up to 32-bit embedded processors running VxWorks and 500k lines of code.
