Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station Opens Sky Walk Connection to Newly Expanded Indiana

March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Indianapolis, IN  – The downtown Indianapolis Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station announces the official opening of it’s 1,250 square foot enclosed skywalk to the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium making it the closest connected hotel to Lucas Oil Stadium and the newest addition to the extensive Indianapolis Downtown Skywalk System.

Completed at a cost of $415,000, the new climate-controlled, 97-foot long glass-sided Crowne Plaza Skywalk connects the hotel above Capitol Avenue to the Indiana Convention Center providing hotel guests with indoor connectivity to the ArtsGarden, Circle Centre Mall with its stores, shops and restaurants and more without having to step outside during inclement weather.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places and as a stand-alone facility, the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station’s amenities include 273 guest rooms and over 55,000 square feet of function space, most notably Union Station’s Grand Hall. The hotel is popular for its ghost statues and its 26 authentic Pullman train cars resting on their original tracks and decorated after period personalities.

Located at 123 West Louisiana Street in downtown Indianapolis, the hotel is adjacent to the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium and just minutes from restaurants, attractions and Indianapolis International Airport.
