SCADA gets mobile with alerts to your mobile or cell phone

SCADA is a protocol on which the bulk of industrial equipment runs. It is a higher level language which can control many pieces of equipment in an industrial setting. Now that Alertee can integrate with SCADA, machines can call you on your phone.

March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Machinery alerts can be setup in SCADA so that existing error codes or alerts can then connect to Alertee via IP or a simple phone call. You manage Alertee yourself so you would preselect up to 10 people to be called in the event of an alert. Alerts would be triggered by a breakdown, accident, back log, slippage, temperature change, spill or even just finishing a run. The main benefit is you can preset who is on call via the web and then be in a conference call within seconds of an event. Alertee even has a calendar so you can roster people on and off.

Further to the benefits to industry with Alertee is the cost. You just pay for what you use and not monitoring on a monthly basis which means you can setup accounts for senior management for rare events such as emergencies and accidents. Each account has a unique phone number which you can enter into your cell phone contact list and initiate conference calls or even text updates.

Alertee is available in Australia and is looking for telecommunications partners to further provide access to Alertee in 2011.
