Lights! Energy! Savings! Birmingham Based, Energy Sciences Resource Partners in Action

March 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Energy Sciences Resource Partners just completed $99,400 in lighting upgrades for the city of Madison Heights, a project that included City Hall, the Senior Citizen Center, Police Department and the Department of Public Service.

Implementing these upgrades will save Madison Heights more than $23,000 annually on its electric bill. One example are sensors which turn lights on and off based on no motion detected in the proximity over a set period of time. As part of this project Energy Sciences also obtained over $20,000 in local utility rebates for the City.

These lighting upgrades in Madison Heights were funded, in part, by an Energy Efficiency and Conservation block grant totaling $124,061. Most recently, Energy Sciences helped the city receive an $83,347 loan from the Michigan Public Services Commission for additional lighting upgrades, as well as heating and cooling projects at facilities across town.

Together, these projects will help Madison Heights reach its long-term energy savings plan to achieve a 25 percent reduction in the usage of non-renewable energy by the year 2015.

Along with Madison Heights, Energy Sciences has assisted several municipalities in Gratiot County, assessing their facilities to pinpoint energy-saving projects that will save taxpayer dollars. The company also customizes energy-saving solutions for businesses as well.

"We have helped customers save millions of dollars through facility assessments and energy-saving programs," Energy Sciences Senior Energy Consultant Shelley Sullivan said. "We also identify and utilize rebates and incentives to reduce capital costs for energy efficiency upgrades”.
