Follow on Google News | ![]() Dell was not the only notebook computer manufacturer to whom certain Sony-made li-lion batteriesApple announced it is cooperating with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission in recalling batteries for an estimated 1.8 million iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 units, 700,000 of which are believed to have been sold in the US.
By: batteryfast zhu The recall may affect virtually all, if not all, portable Mac G4 units sold by Apple since October 2003. According to the CPSC, Apple received a total of nine complaints emerging from overheated batteries, two of which resulted in minor burn injuries, and others which caused minor property damage. So far, Apple is claiming no reports of explosions or the level of calamity on the level of those brought to light last week with regard to Dell, amateur video footage of which was featured as the top story on ABC's World News. http://www.batteryfast.com/ Press bulletins are characterizing this latest recall as the second largest in US history behind Dell's recall of 4.1 million units, though this claim has yet to be independently confirmed. The recall does not affect recently released, Intel-based MacBook and MacBook Pro units. Well, the simian sourcing scientists proceeded to kit out their rhesus pieces with a robotic "sleeve" that fit over their arm. "In the first part of the experiment, the monkeys controlled the cursor by simply looking at the computer screen. In the second part, the robotic device moved the monkey's relaxed arm in tandem with the cursor movement, so the monkey could sense the cursor's motion in time and space. The authors found when the monkeys had the extra sensation, the cursor hit the target faster and more directly." http://www.batteryfast.com/ http://www.batteryfast.com/ Or in layman's terms, the monkeys learned to think about moving their arm better if their arm was stimulated at the same time. Which seems rather obvious, but what do we non-scientists know? Rather naively, the lead researcher on the project, Nicholas Hatsopoulos, believes the wearable exoskeletal robots could be used for medical good, to "provide sensory information to patients with full or partial feeling," or "to replicate sensory feedback in patients who have lost both motor and sensory function." # # # Wholesale discount laptop batteries with high quality battery cells for most every notebook computer on the market. we have worked with leading laptop battery manufacturers around the world to design, specify, and build high quality laptop batteries.
