March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Chelmsford, MA – Biscom, the leading provider of secure document transfer technology to the legal industry, today announced that it surpassed several milestones in 2010 including growing its law firm client base by 200 percent, producing a new release of its legal security software, integrating with Autonomy iManage and establishing key industry partnerships.

2010 Accomplishments Include:

•   The addition of prestigious AmLaw 200 firms as clients
•   Product enhancements designed to improve attorney/client collaboration
•   Support for secure transfer of  Autonomy iManage documents
•   Creation of Several Legal Industry Partnerships

“Biscom’s accomplishments in 2010 create a compelling vision of a company deeply committed to making it simple for law firms to transfer files while preventing data breaches,” said Charlie Magliato, Legal Program Director of Biscom. “In 2010, we significantly grew our law firm client base, surpassed the 5,000 legal-users milestone, introduced important enhancements that strengthen our legal industry leadership and kicked off a roadshow with the International Legal Technology Association.  In 2011, we have continued this accelerated pace with the launch of our SharePoint integration at LegalTech New York and deployment in several litigation support services firms.”

New Clients

In 2010, Biscom’s adoption within the industry grew by 200 percent as it deployed its legal delivery solutions for clients including Duane Morris LLP, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, Womble Carlyle, Arnstein & Lehr and Holland & Hart.

New Legal Solutions and Integrations

Law firms are continually challenged to ensure the secure transfer of legal documents.  The most commonly used methods of file exchange – email and FTP – are easily prone to security breaches that could jeopardize a law firm’s reputation while leaving it vulnerable to massive fines.

In 2010, Biscom enhanced its legal file transfer software to address the problem of potential security breaches and enable law firms to transfer files without complications.  These enhancements included the:

•   Release of the latest version of Biscom Secure File Delivery Software  which includes enhanced recipient collaboration capabilities, folder uploading, automatic file compression, Outlook 2010 support and enhanced customization and security controls. These enhancements facilitate secure file transfer for attorneys and practice support groups by improving the performance of file uploads regardless of size or format, delivering advanced delivery tracking and verification of receipt and allowing secure document exchange and collaboration with multiple external recipients.
•   Integration with Autonomy iManage, which allows law firms to save time and effort by directly accessing a WorkSite library to upload documents for secure delivery, notification and auditing.

Channel Growth

Biscom expanded its industry reach with the announcement of several new partners. In 2010, Biscom embarked on strategic partnerships with Adaptive Solutions, Keno Kozie, Traveling Coaches, TOSS, Litera and Loffler Companies. These collaborations have furthered Biscom’s penetration in the legal marketplace and allowed the company to work with trusted IT providers used by AmLaw 200 law firms.

Recognition

The past year marked several recognitions for Biscom and its clients. These include the publication of byline articles chronicling the use of Biscom at McKenna, Long & Aldridge and Arnstein & Lehr and case studies from Riemer Braunstein and Outten & Golden. In recognition of the company’s thought leadership, the International Legal Technology Association published a white paper by Bill Ho, Biscom’s vice president of internet products, titled “A Data Breach Pandemic.”

Biscom also launched a bimonthly newsletter focused on legal technology and security. The newsletter features whitepapers, industry articles and case studies for legal operations, security and compliance professionals.
