IEI Launches Long-distance Video Capturing HD-SDI-Box Kit

March 8, 2011 - PRLog -- IEI Technology Corp. (IEI), the global industrial PC innovator, released the HD-SDI-BOX kit, providing a high-definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI) for distant signal transmission. The HD-SDI-BOX kit, including the HD-SDI-BOX-M (Master) and the HD-SDI-BOX-S (Slave), can transmit HDMI or VGA video signals directly through a 100-meter coaxial cable without compression. The HD-SDI-BOX kit is ideal for professional studios, broadcasting, surveillance, and intelligent transportation system environments.

More and more television and broadcasting applications require equipment with an SDI or HD-SDI output. SDI (Serial Digital Interface) is an interface used for broadcast-grade video. High-definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI) provides a nominal data rate of 1.485 Gb/s.

The HD-SDI-BOX kit is a flexible system. Its long distance video transmission capability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. With one HD-SDI-BOX-M (Master) and two HD-SDI-BOX-S (Slave) to a PC and display device, the entire HD-SDI-BOX kit can transfer video information over a distance of up to 200-meters. When connecting an additional HD-SDI-BOX-S (Slave), the video transmission range extends up to 100-meters for HD video quality and 300-meters for SD quality. The HD-SDI-BOX kit also supports a touch-screen remote control linked through the RJ-45 Cat5 cable and RS-232 cable.
