Follow on Google News | New Book Teaches Children Timely Lessons Of Trying And PerserveranceA communications expert’s ‘family project’ becomes a series of life lesson stories for children
By: GeeWiz Marketing Communications “My youngest daughter, Anna, once told me she would ‘speak in big words so I would understand,’ So why write a series of books for children? “My daughters challenged me to write something simple, and Bumblelina became our latest family project,” Madia says. “We carried through the simplicity of the words, designed to engage children in the rhythmic sounds, by keeping the illustrations in simple sketch form with just a hidden spot of color on each page,” she adds. Bumbelina is the first of a series of topical books for children by Dr. Sherrie Madia, with life learning themes that will range from sharing, friendship, respecting the environment, following rules and others. Bumblelina, tells the story of a tiny bee that wants desperately to fly and begins her try-outs with jumps, twists, turns and falls. Bumblelina tries again and again, without success. But she doesn’t give up. When an unexpected breeze lifts her off her feet, Bumblelina instinctively flutters her wings and flies. “This book teaches children the timeless lesson of trying—about the importance of perseverance,” Some of the topics Dr. Madia addresses through her book and professional experience include: • Learning the importance of trying and never giving up until you succeed. • Happiness is having the confidence to try, and the courage not to give up. • Social media safety – Teaching kids how to be smart and safe on-line. • Being a single parent raising girls with positive values in a faced-paced society.
