Enterprising Parents Launch Homemade Skin Treatment For Kids and Babies

March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Balmers, LLC launched their website www.balmersnaturals.com to sell a new product aimed to treat eczema, rosacea, and extremely dry skin in children.  While this is not something new and groundbreaking by itself, the interesting part of the story is that this product was formulated over the past two years by two parents, Peter and Meagan McMullin, in their own kitchen…where they still make the product today using the key ingredient of Sea Buckthorn Oil.  

“With 3 little boys, all who have pretty significant eczema, we had to try something ourselves.  We tested dozens of products on the market, including prescription medication, and nothing did much to heal the symptoms or reduce the discomfort” said CEO Peter McMullin.  So they began experimenting at home with various different ingredients and formulations.  “Finally, after about a year of trial and error, we nailed it!” said co-founder Megan McMullin, “we started calling it “The Stick” and giving it to our friends with kids who had similar skin problems.  When virtually every person we gave it too called and begged us for more, we knew we had invented something special and decided to produce it so that others could benefit from its remarkable qualities.”  

That product is now marketed as “Monkey Balm” and the company is co-owned by long-time friends, Jeremy and Christine Jones.  Jeremy added “My wife and I loved that this product was all-natural, home-made, and still works better than any other product on the market.”  The Jones’ also have a child that suffers from periodic bouts of eczema.  

The company owners state that they will continue to hand-make this remarkable product unless and until demand out grows their ability to supply the product in this way.  Regardless, Monkey Balm will always be made with as little impact on the environment as possible and will continue to be all-natural – both ideals that the McMullins and Jonses deeply espouse.  

Even as a small start-up company, Monkey Balm has attracted the attention of some big media mastheads.  Currently there are writers for major New York-based magazine and online media publishers reviewing the product which the makers of Monkey Balm hope will result in some nationwide exposure.
