March 3, 2011 - PRLog -- The International Data Centre Group (IDC-G), the first global data centre alliance, announces the addition of an alliance member to its growing network following an agreement with Dataplex Hungary, the leading carrier neutral data center in Hungary.

Based in Budapest, Dataplex is the market leader offering high quality carrier neutral data centre services at its 14,400 square metre facility, which is one of the largest facilities in Europe. Customers taking up co-location space at the data centre will benefit from the variety and quality of carrier services, as all Hungarian providers have connected their fibre networks to Dataplex, in addition to over 25 international network operators.

The London-based IDC-G alliance network is a unique concept, being the first partnership of datacenter operators around the world under a strong, unified brand, providing international businesses with a centralised point-of-contact for their bespoke data centre needs. The handpicked members of the IDC-G alliance are carrier-neutral and among the preeminent players in their respective national markets with a strong focus on operations quality.

In announcing the partnership agreement Guy Willner, Executive Chairman of International Data Centre Group said, “IDC-G is delighted to have Dataplex on board as a partner. The company has made major strides in strengthening their co-location business and the addition of Dataplex is an immense boost to the growing alliance. The joining of Dataplex solidifies our presence in Eastern Europe, where IDC-G has data centre members in three other countries.”

Alan Hawkins, Commercial Director at Dataplex remarked, “Membership in the IDC-G alliance provides an excellent forum to exchange new ideas and share best practices with data centre professionals from around the world.  Equally important, the global reach of the alliance has already generated new business opportunities with international players who are looking to expand into the growing economies of Central and Eastern Europe.”
