March 2, 2011 - PRLog -- “United Road is known in the industry as the leader of technology and logistic practices,” said Wysocki. “This certification shows that our commitment to being the best and doing the right thing for our customers is ongoing.”

C-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative that builds cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security.      “C-TPAT is widely recognized as one of the most effective means of providing the highest level of cargo security through close cooperation with international supply chain businesses such as importers, carriers, consolidators, licensed customs brokers, and manufacturers,” says Charles Baxter, United Road’s President of Risk Management. Baxter says that through the C-TPAT initiative, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) can rely on the integrity of a company’s security practices and communicate and verify the security guidelines of their business partners within the supply chain.

David Larson, Senior VP of Business Development agrees. “This certification provides a distinct competitive advantage for our customers by enabling their product to speed through customs in specially designated Free and Secure Trade (FAST) lanes.  These lanes expedite clearance through customs ensuring our customer’s shipments spend less time on the road, reaching their destination for final sale in the shortest time possible.”

In today’s competitive global marketplace, United Road is finding that its willingness to go above and beyond sets them apart from every other logistics company out there. “It’s an important part of our company’s reputation and ability to secure business,” adds Baxter. “Today many companies have contracts that not only require C-TPAT criteria compliance, but actual C-TPAT membership.” He says for companies who are involved in the international supply chain C-TPAT membership is a must.  “The companies that United Road does business with demand the very best and we work to give it to them, without them ever having to ask.”
