Outlook Foundation Selects The Harriman Group As Agency of Record for PR Services

March 1, 2011 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS, and LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. March 1, 2011 – The Harriman Group (THG), your strategic partner in public relations and social media, today announced that it has been selected as the agency of record by the Outlook Foundation, a non-profit organization created to refurbish and repurpose computers, providing them to under resourced children as well as U.S. service personnel and their stateside families.

Using traditional and digital media, THG will tell the story of the Outlook Foundation and its mission, to extend awareness, encourage participation, and promote sponsorship for its donation and recycling programs.

John Iasiuolo, host of the popular Internet talk show, the Computer Outlook Talk Show, launched the Foundation in November of 2010 when he realized that, “Every year corporations update and upgrade their computers, and when it is replaced, a perfectly good computer is usually thrown away or recycled. Through the Outlook Foundation, we will repurpose these computers and put them in the hands of children in the U.S. who do not have access to a computer, and also to military personnel and their families. Providing a computer to a child in need opens doors to opportunities, and the Outlook Foundation aspires to help these families embrace those prospects by providing education vouchers, which will allow computer recipients to pursue technology education at no cost to the family. We want to help ensure that all children have equal educational opportunities, and that deployed service men and women can stay in touch with their stateside families.”

The Outlook Foundation has submitted for its 501(C)(3) status, and already has corporate commitments for donations of 4,000 laptop computers and 7,200 desktop computers. All computer parts that are not used in the refurbishing process are recycled through certified organizations, keeping e-waste out of our landfills.

Diskeeper Corporation also recently announced that its headquarters in Burbank, Calif., will be a distribution site for recipients of computers from the Outlook Foundation.
