Feb. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- The recent developments in the smartphone industry have meant that Sony Ericsson has been pushed to a position of being a mere spectator, even though the company has launched a number of high-end smart phones in the past few years. One of the main reasons for Sony Ericsson not being able to compete with the rest of the industry has been the lack of a phone that will make everybody crave for it. It seems to have finally hit upon the device and it will be called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. This new phone was recently announced by Sony Ericsson at the recent tech show and it immediately got a lot of attention. It is clear why.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc will be employing the Bravia mobile engine for the first time in a Sony Ericsson phone on its 4.2 inch touch screen display. This is a touch screen display that finally brings the competition from the Sony Ericsson portfolio back on track. This display will be able to support a maximum resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, which would make the Sony Ericsson mobile phone to the close to the Apple iPhone 4 in terms of resolution. The screen is protected by a scratch resistant surface. It will be displaying the contents of the latest 2.3 version of Android, which was recently launched by Google. This version of Android will be coming with a number of changes that will be reflecting on the commitment to provide more user-friendliness to the user.

The changes will be seen in the Timescape user interface that Sony Ericsson has been using in its Android line-up of phones for a number of years. The main changes will be seen in the external areas of the operating system. There will be no changes to the interface of the camera. This is particularly a welcome option as the camera interface was one of the things that was really brilliant about the 2.2 version of Android, Froyo operating system. They have not changed any of the interface issue with the camera, but the camera will be of top-notch quality. It is guaranteed by the presence of the eight megapixel unit in the phone. This camera will be having lengthy of options to enable the user to take extremely high quality images without taking too many steps to ensure the quality. The presence of the features like the image stabilisation, face detection and LED flash are present ensuring this process.

The phone will be comfortably running all of the aforementioned features due to the presence of a powerful dual core 1 GHz processor. Even though this is one of the most powerful processors that are currently available for the mobile phone industry, it is extremely efficient as well. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has just been announced for the worldwide markets. It will be available in the UK for a price of around £ 460, with the month of April being targeted as the launch date.
