New deputy general manager aims to build on success of Down Hall

Feb. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Craig Vines comes from a family of hoteliers, having grown up in the Cromwell Hotel in Stevenage. On leaving school, he enjoyed a number of different roles in the hospitality industry, coming to the 14th century Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath from a previous position as Operations Manager at Chilston Park Hotel in Kent.

Mr Vines said he was looking forward to building on the success of the 99-bedroom Down Hall, which is also a wedding and conference venue.  He added: “Through my childhood in the hospitality industry and taking on different positions in my working life, I have learned that any successful hotel puts its customers first.  

“You have to do everything you can to provide a top quality service for your guests.  Down Hall is already doing a great job but there are always areas you can improve upon, and I hope to give the hotel the impetus to keep getting better and better.”

Down Hall General Manager Chris Falcus said he was looking forward to working closely with his new Deputy.  He said: “Craig may only be 26, but growing up in the industry and already having a decade’s work history under his belt will make him a valuable asset to us.”
