Tired of Winter Already? Check Out This Indoor Waterpark Resort

Winter's cold and snow is enough to get anybody down but indoor water parks such as Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort located in Wisconsin Dells can offer a welcome relief with fun and exciting adventures around every turn.

Feb. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Those getting a little stir crazy from the winter cold and snow might want to check out the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, America’s largest water park resort located in Wisconsin Dells. This amazing water park resort, which was featured on the Travel Channel’s Extreme Resorts Show and was just named “One of the Top 10 Indoor Waterparks in America” by Budget Travel, has over 250,000 square of indoor water parks for winter weary  folks to explore.
The Wilderness Resort, actually has one water park, the Wild WaterDome, that has a see through roof which allows UV rays to permeate through it so guests can tan indoors years round.  The water park is also home to the Great Wave, the country’s largest indoor wave pool that generates waves up to five feet high.
According to Joe Eck, general manager for the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, “We’ve had guests tell us that they love the feeling of having the sun shine down on them in the Wild WaterDome, and that the park’s natural light, balmy temperature and live palm trees boost their spirits.  And personally, I would have to agree.  It feels easier to cope with the remaining days of winter when you have had a little break."
The resort’s other two waterparks, Klondike Kavern and the Wild West Waterpark, are also home to some pretty special attractions including the Hurricane, a 4-person, thrill ride which plummets those you dare to try it down a 58-foot drop before entering a massive funnel at a pulse-pounding 20 mph. There, they are propelled up the opposite side of the funnel and experience a momentary zero-gravity force before exiting into with a splash into the landing pool below. Fog machines, strobe lights and sound effects add to the thrills of this amazing ride.
Other popular attractions in the resorts’ waterparks include the Black Hole, a thrill ride that takes two guests through an exciting tunnel before they race into a huge bowl where they spin around and descend into a corkscrew that center that drops them down into a landing pool; The Fantastic Voyage, the Dells’ only five-person raft ride; and a 500-foot lazy river where guests can kick back and relax.
Once guests have had enough of the water, the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort has still plenty of options for adventures including Timberland Play Park, a 35,000 square-foot, four-story adventure with ball blasters, slides and crawl spaces; the OK Corral Lazer Tag Arena; The Wild Abyss and Wild Buccaneer indoor 3-D black light mini golf courses; Tombstone Town Haunted Hotel; Mineshaft Mirror Maze; and paint your own pottery.
“We like to say the fun and adventures never end at the Wilderness,” adds Eck. “If you spend a day or two at our waterpark resort, you’re bound to leave feeling refreshed and energized so you can make it through the rest of winter.”
February rates for a wilderness-themed guest room, that accommodates a family of four, start as low as $99 Sunday through Thursday.  Fabulous two-bedroom deluxe condos with a fireplace start at $140 Sunday through Thursday.
The Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort is located on the Wilderness Territory, which consists of over 600 wooded acres in Wisconsin Dells. The Wilderness Territory is also home to the Wilderness on the Lake and Glacier Canyon Lodge condo properties, and it is easily accessible from Interstate 90 and 94.
