GFC Earns Highest Charity Navigator Award for Sixth Consecutive Year

GFC Rated in Top 4 Percent of America’s Charities

Feb. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- The Global Fund for Children (GFC) has been awarded the highest rating possible by Charity Navigator, the country’s premier charity evaluator. This is the sixth consecutive year that the organization has received the coveted four-star award, which is based on a commitment to sound fiscal management.

“It is rewarding to be consistently recognized as an organization people can trust,” said Maya Ajmera, president of The Global Fund for Children. “I believe it is reflective of our fundamental commitment to use donors’ resources responsibly in order to make the biggest impact possible in the lives of children all over the world.”

Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator highlights the work of efficient charities and provides donors with essential information to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make. Last year, Charity Navigator evaluated more than 5,000 of America’s best-known nonprofits, prompting donors to give more than $10 billion in charitable gifts.

“Only 4% of the charities we rate have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Global Fund for Children consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America,” stated Ken Berger, president of Charity Navigator. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Global Fund for Children from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
