Learn to Use Twitter at Social Media Workshop

Using Social Media to Benefit Local Hudson Valley Promotion

Budget Travel magazine’s annual coolest towns contest invites the public to vote for a top ten out of twenty nominees.  In 2009, nearby Saugerties earned a spot in the top 10 and received nationwide publicity as an America’s Coolest Small Towns winner.  To qualify, the town must have a population under 10,000 and an edgy, avant-garde vibe.  Quaint won’t get you far in this contest – factors such as arts, culture, restaurants and proximity to nature are the new definitions drawing the attention of Budget Travel’s readers.   Participants of the tweet up will be utilizing their personal social networks and new Twitter skills to help garnish votes for Phoenicia in the contest.
