Toshiba Q3 Profit More Than Doubled On The Smart Phone

Jan. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Japan’s Toshiba Corp. ‘s quarterly profit more than doubled, reflecting a boom in sales of NAND flash memory chips and LCD screens as tablets and smartphones, but has captured the outlook for the full year. South Korean rival Samsung Electronics.

Which last week announced its weakest performance in six quarters also expected to benefit this year, a burgeoning demand for smartphones and tablets. “Smartphones are selling well, the demand (Toshiba), a strong memory products,” said Tomomi Yamashita, fund manager at Shinkin Asset Management.
