By: Adele Holdsworth Colleges will showcase new ideas, skills, product, talent and determination to flourish into talented designers of today. The pressure is on, colleges will have one week to build their garden outside the front of Earls Court. During this time they will be supported by Domoney Ltd (http://www.domoney.tv) The colleges need to create a garden haven from a reclaimed urban area using a 5 x 4.5 metre plot. The garden should demonstrate an understanding of harmony and sustainability, incorporating a sense of proportion and clever use of the important vertical dimension in small, urban gardens and terraces. The garden should inspire city dwellers, showing just what can be achieved in the most impossible of urban locations. The garden must create a sense of tranquility for the home owner; it should act as an escape from the pressures of inner city life and bring a touch of nature to the heart of the metropolis. David Domoney says, “This is an exciting opportunity for young designers and landscapers as they embark on their career and offers a chance to bring their innovative concepts to life. I believe it will showcase the new talent of our future.” The Ideal Home Show attracts in the region of 250,000 visitors over 17 days, a calendar event not to be missed.
