PRLog -- Poole Fire Protection, Inc. proudly announces that Eric Reed, PE has been promoted to Fire Protection Engineer III after recently passing the exam to become a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Washington. He is a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University. His projects include healthcare facilities, commercial facilities and Department of Energy installations. His expertise includes designing fire suppression and detection systems including sprinkler systems and smoke detection systems. In addition Mr. Reed has designed fire stopping systems for commercial and telecommunications facilities and perimeter fire barriers for multistory buildings. Becoming a Registered Engineer is a rigorous process. Applicants must pass the fundamental exam after demonstrating that they have graduated from an accredited four-year engineering program. Then, they must carefully document their experience for at least four years to establish that they have met the experience requirements working under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer. After their work experience record has been approved by the State Board of Professional Engineers, they are required to pass the 8-hour practice and principles exam. "By earning a PE license, Eric has reached a new level of excellence in his professional career", said Jack Poole, principal at Poole Fire Protection. "He should be very proud of his accomplishment."
