dysFUNKtional's releases new CD

Mason Howard and Rocco Bovo first met at St. Ignatius College Preparatory which is a private Jesuit high school in San Francisco, California.  The two began collaborating on music and film immediately, unknowingly creating building blocks to their currently production company, dysFUNKtional Entertainment.   After graduation, Mason acquired his A.A. degree from Marymount College and moved on to Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.  This is where he is currently studying Film Production.  Meanwhile, Rocco secured an A.S. in Recording Arts and B.S. in Entertainment Business from Full Sail Univeristy in Orlando, Florida.  Rocco shortly afterwards, moved to Long Beach, California to pursue a music career with his older brother, bmfBRUNO, in a group formally known as The Bovo Boys.  

As Rocco settled in Los Angeles, he’d meet up again with Mason to work on songs and films when time permitted.  In 2008, Mason produced what became The Bovo Boys hit single, “Snow White Affair”.  There was no denying that Rocco and Mason had powerful synergies together.  This was the birth of dysFUNKtional Entertainment.    They are the quintessential alternative hip hop dynamic duo.

dysFUNKtional’s new single, “Voices” is the lead song from their new CD “So Far Away (yet so close)”.  This song signifies the supposed utterance of a guiding spirit, typically giving instructions on how to live ones’ life.   It’s a state of consciousness with a clarity and vision of a different world around you.  “Voices” represents 1/6 of a completely diverse album.  It is the hard candy coat on a sweet spine-chilling treat”, states Mason.  This song is representative of the talent and creative juices that flow through each individual.  What they create is musical wonders with melodies, harmonies, musical instruments and layered vocals – arranged so perfectly in order to create maximum effect.

Released on October 5, 2010, “So Far Away (yet so close)” was their debut CD.  It is a five song mind bending extravaganza.   Analyzed in a focus group, this CD created quite a stir and the notoriety they deserved.  They are imagineers with no boundaries as to their creative ability.
