Apart from adding a truly unique touch to fine automobiles, these paints are also perfect for customising helmets, motorbikes and even smart phones – there is virtually no limit to their use.

Two years of development work have been invested in “Magic Magenta”, “Atomic Orange” and “Shifting Carbon”. The first quarter of 2011 will see the launch of another three special effect colors, namely “Urban Bamboo”, “Explosive Gold” and “Python Green”. All the new colors do their names proud. “Magic Magenta” is a deep violet which changes into orange-copper when exposed to sunlight. “Shifting Carbon” brings a colorful glitter to anthracite and “Atomic Orange” is an explosive eyecatcher. These exclusive colors owe their distinct characters to special effect paints borrowed from the company’s Standohyd range.


“When we set out to develop these new paints, we gave a lot of thought to the colors to spearhead the range. Our research found that stark color changes and strong flops from one color direction to another are no longer that popular,” says Standox color expert Sandra Piwonski. “The market now favours special effects which only reveal themselves at second sight”, adds Sascha Pfeffer, head of product and application technology at Standox Germany. “Technologies such as three-coat finishes, matt  finishes and tinted clears make it possible to customise all manner of objects, allowing for great creativity on smaller areas and single items.“ Mixed to order by Standox distributors, these paints are available in different quantities to suit specific jobs.

A folder containing original spray samples of the first three colors allows bodyshops to present these new special effect paints to interested customers right away.
