Custom Components Company Supplies Custom Railing Parts for Beekman Tower in New York City

Jan. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Custom Components Company has supplied custom designed railing parts for Beekman Tower, which is nearing completion in New York City.

The project is a 76 story mixed-use building in Lower Manhattan.  It will include 903 market-rate rental apartments, a pre-K through 8th grade 630 student public school, an ambulatory care facility for New York Downtown Hospital, ground floor retail space and one level of below-grade hospital parking.

Beekman Tower, located at 8 Spruce Street, is being developed by Forest City Ratner Companies. It was designed by world renowned architect Frank Gehry. One of its design hallmarks is its facades etched with a series of soft irregular folds fashioned from shiny, crinkled stainless steel. Construction is to be completed by Kreisler Borg Florman General Construction Company. The curtain wall for the building is being done by the Permasteelisa Group.  Upon completion it will be the tallest residential building in the city.

Custom Components Company is supplying a unique design base shoe, stainless cladding and structural mounting system for the special 9/16” laminate glass panels being used on the structure. The glass features DuPont’s SGP inner layer. Custom Components did all offsite fabrication to ensure the quality and price competitiveness.  S & C Products Corp., a miscellaneous metals and window wall supplier from New York City, purchased, engineered and installed this custom railing system.
