Microsoft is working on a FaceTime competitor for Windows Phone [Update] .... even if they often fail to bring it to the consumer base themselves
Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- As you now, Steve Ballmer, the chief executive officer for Microsoft , has revealed only demo for cut-copy-paste and not more than that for the upcoming Windows Phone 7updates at CES this year. But, according to, an important Windows Phone 7 employee has unveiled some more information on this. Well, the so-called Facetime competitor is more likely to be the connected Microsoft Live Services, and hence to enable cross-platform calling across PC, Xbox, and Windows Phone. Also, when someone asked that why Microsoft isn’t using something like Skype, but the employee answered this Facetime competitor will “reach beyond the hand of Skype”.

Also, as per Neowin‘s claim, the front-facing cameras may be a requirement for Windows Phone 8 devices. Well, till now it hasn’t been cleared anything on whether this app will be a part of Windows Phone 8 or it will come as an update to the Windows Phone 7.
