Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The all-new Toyota Highlander midsize crossover SUV has been updated with new exterior and interior features for 2011.

The new Highlander is offered in two powerful engines: a 2.7-liter four –cylinder engine with massive horsepower of 187, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 270 horsepower, coupled to a five-speed automatic.

With the four-cylinder engine, the 2011 Highlander offers an impressive maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and increases up to 5,000 pounds with the V6.

Depending on choice of engine, fuel economy on the all-new Toyota Highlander is rated at 18-20 mpg in the city as well as 24-25 mpg on the highway. Toyota also offers a Hybrid version of the Highlander for buyers who want better gas mileage.

New exterior features of the 2011 Highlander include a new hood, fenders, lights, and front fascia. New 17-inch alloy wheels are now available on base and SE trims. Even the grille receives a wider look that extends from headlights to headlights.

The new Toyota Highlander is spacious inside, which offers total seating capacity of seven. The third-row is now standard on the new Highlander with a 50/50 split row that can be folded to maximize cargo space.

Interior features come with a keyless entry system, climate controls for the rear seats, and power doors and locks. Features such as a USB port, Bluetooth®, and satellite radio are standard options for the SE and Limited trims. Additional interior features include leather/heated seats, moonroof, backup camera, and USB/iPod integration. The Limited adds push-button start, three-zone automatic climate control, and a power passenger seat.

Safety features of the new Highlander offer seven airbags, an electronic stability system, antilock disc brakes on all four corners, and active head restraints.
