Groundbreaking Nature Fashion Show "Wrapped in Nature" Debuts at Rhode Island's Spiral LabyrinthEco Artist Sara Seelenbrandt Presents Original Designs Created from Local Environmental Materials
By: Wrapped In Nature This unprecedented event, developed in collaboration with the Eco-Land Art Project, showcases imaginative wearable masterpieces designed to rekindle humanity's innate connection with the natural world. Each garment represents what Seelenbrandt describes as "expressions of raw beauty, possibility, and consciousness," "The imagination is boundless and infinite, a place where everything exists," explains Seelenbrandt. "I realized that it's my inner world that nature has been imploring me to activate in relationship to her." The artist's unique approach combines her decade-long expertise in luxury fashion with her deep calling to environmental consciousness, creating a bridge between high fashion artistry and ecological awareness. After spending over ten years in New York City's luxury fashion industry, including a decade with Italian fashion house Etro as North America's women's wholesale director, Seelenbrandt returned to her Rhode Island roots where she experienced what she describes as "a deep calling from nature." Her background studying industrial design at the Rhode Island School of Design provides the technical foundation for these innovative creations. The fashion show takes place at The Spiral, a contemplative labyrinth space developed by the Eco-Land Art Project, whose mission is to create environmental art spaces that inspire mindful engagement with the land. This venue marks the perfect setting for Seelenbrandt's vision of fashion that is "worn on the body, rooted in place." "This work encourages us to contemplate our current relationships with nature and fashion, and how they are intertwined," The event celebrates the first anniversary of The Spiral Labyrinth and demonstrates innovative uses for this unique public space. Limited seating is available for 60 guests per showing, with reservations required. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and carpool due to limited parking at this public location. Seelenbrandt also offers talking engagements, nature workshops, and fashion presentations for educational institutions and organizations interested in sustainable design and the intersection of fashion and environmental consciousness.
