PRLog -- Sacramento, CA - Many Christians begin the New Year determined to read through the entire Bible during the next twelve months, only to get bogged down and disillusioned in the "begats" of Genesis 10 and 11. True, some parts of the Bible are more action packed and inspiring than others, but Yeshua said, "Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of G-d." (Matt 4:4). "Every word" includes the "begats" and other seemingly dry passages of Scripture that have a way of putting us to sleep.
Often times, Bible boredom results from lack of knowledge or understanding of Bible times. After all, humanity is thousands of years removed in time, distance, linguistics, and culture from the great book that anchors our faith. When one, empowered by the Holy Spirit, finally breaks through the "fog" of new beginnings, the light of G-d's Word has a way of shining through, illuminating and making relevant even the obscure passages that previously induced boredom, disinterest, and perhaps, confusion.
