By: Leslie Allen “David Barbeau is a highly respected aftermarket leader that will bring a wealth of management and financial expertise to bear upon our work in mergers and acquisitions,” Barbeau’s automotive career started in 1976 at Monroe Auto Equipment Co. in Monroe, Mich., where he was vice president of finance. In 1987, Barbeau became president of ARA Automotive Group in Grand Prairie, Texas, and became senior vice president, operations, for APS, Inc. in 1990, a Houston-based national distributor of automotive replacement parts. Before joining Delphi in 2002, Barbeau served as executive vice president of Auto Parts Express, LLC, an automotive parts and equipment distribution company that he co-founded in 1999. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Barbeau earned a bachelor’s degree, and a master’s of business administration degree in finance and accounting from Saint Louis University. He’s a member of the Automotive Sales Council, and in 2008 he was elected to the board of directors of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).
