New iPhone App, QuikTap Words, Improves Reading Skills

Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- KayKhosoft has added a new game, QuikTap Words to its series of educational game offerings. QuikTap Words is based on the list of over 200 Dolsch Sight Words that make up 60% or more of the words in children’s classroom books.  

Educators agree that learning the Dolsch Sight Words is a mandatory step in making fluent readers, and they agree that they should be learned by sight and not by phonics (as many of the words cannot be sounded out). It’s a fact that children who master the sight words make better readers whether English is their first language or if they are English language learners (ELL). Reading is a fundamental skill for a child to be successful in school.

QuikTap Words is a fun game that allows children to play continuously with the Dolsch Sight Words that are grouped by grades preK, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade. By playing QuikTap Words children can get a head start on their reading skills.

QuikTap Words is added to KayKhosoft’s other apps: QuikTap Colors, iFlashCards A to Z, and iFlashCards 1 – 30.
