Jersey Shore tourism and economic development organization appoints new leadership

Asbury Park, NJ – December 28, 2010 The Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau (www.visitthejerseyshore.com.) has announced the appointment of seven new officers to its board of directors.

“The Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau is the fastest growing destination marketing organization in New Jersey,” says executive director Robert Hilton. “Our organization represents thousands of jobs along the Jersey Shore and has a multimillion dollar impact on our regional and state economy. The strategic leadership of our board of directors is critical as we continue to grow and represent our Jersey Shore region. In these challenging economic times, our focus is on promoting a positive image of the Jersey Shore and encouraging tourism and commerce. We welcome our newest board members and will look to them for leadership and expertise.”

The new chapter board members are:  
Mary Eileen Fouratt – Monmouth County Arts Council; Richard Jarosz – Lonekeep Internet; Samantha Johnson – Courtyard Marriott; Gina Longo – Asbury Park Press; Michael Redpath – Redpath Associates; Vickie Palmer – Inns of Ocean Grove/Doolans; and Ben Waldron – Monmouth-Ocean Development Council.

The Executive Committee of the Jersey Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau includes:
Sophia Mangalee - Monmouth Park Racetrack; Gary Pollack - Six Flags Great Adventure;  Tom Gilmour - City of Asbury Park; Barb Youchah– Comfort Inn Middletown; and Toby Wolf –Casino Pier.
