New audio book by Sonny Melendrez “The Art of Living With Enthusiasm” offers inspiration for new

Dec. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Sonny Melendrez is living proof that “everything happens for a reason.” In his new audio book, “The Art of Living With Enthusiasm!: Stories of Encouragement, Comfort, & Joy”, he offers story after story focusing on the mastery of this mystery of life.

For instance, in 1987, a casual remark made by a nun as he was leaving a high school where he had just spoken to the student body, led to a meeting with Pope John Paul II twice in the same year.

On another occasion, while vacationing in Paris, Sonny noticed an American flag as he glanced down a small street. It was the USO, the organization that supports American troops around the world. Something told Melendrez to enter the building and ask one question. The answer led to his return to France two months later as the guest of the Mayor of Paris to produce and perform at a gala celebration with guest of honor, Princess Grace of Monaco.

Sonny Melendrez credits one important ingredient necessary for the success of any vision: enthusiasm!

“It’s something we all have within us and can use with great success in our daily lives,” he enthuses. As Melendrez points out, this book is also about what “you see for yourself in the future and how sometimes, even those closest to you, can’t see what you dream about.”

Since his first job in radio at a station in El Paso, Texas while attending the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), working for $1.25 an hour, it has been this unbridled enthusiasm that has propelled his career to radio and TV opportunities in Hollywood and beyond.

Twice named Billboard Magazine’s National Radio Personality of the Year and recently inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, Melendrez is also included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one of the “Top 100 Radio Personalities of All-Time," and has entertained at some of America's greatest radio stations, including KIIS, KMPC, KFI, and KRLA in Los Angeles.

His enthusiasm for giving back along the way has also resulted in countless awards and accolades including:

•   Commendations from the city and county of Los Angeles for creating a 14 hour radio “Waterthon” that saved 131 million gallons of water during a serious drought in Southern California.

•   Inc. Magazine’s Socially Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year
•   Nosotros National Hispanic Radio Personality of the Year presented by Ricardo Montalban.
•   TV & Movie Screen Magazine’s Personality of the Year
•   Grammy nomination for creating the children’s recording of “We Are The World,” penned by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie.
