Springer Turkey Challenge Donates to Stanford Settlement in North Sacramento

Dec. 23, 2010 - PRLog -- The Stanford Settlement of North Sacramento is an organization with the goal of building healthy communities through individual, family and neighborhood services. They offer a variety of programs and services including, after school groups, summer day camps, and a teen and senior center. The Springer Turkey Challenge presented Sister Jeanne a donation check this week.

The Springer Turkey Challenge was started by Keith Springer, president of Springer Financial Advisors in Sacramento, CA in 1999. In the beginning, Springer would actually go to the supermarket, negotiate the price of turkeys, buy them, and then help the food bank load them into their pick-ups for distribution.

“Last year, the Turkey Challenge fed more than 10,000 people” Springer said. “We encourage our friends and family to join us in this effort.”
