Mesothelioma Verdict In Favor Of William Pfeifer Brings Home $22.7 Million To This 64 Year

William Pfeifer worked as a boiler operator in the US Navy where he was exposed to this fatal insulating product. The nature of his job subjected William Pfeifer to frequent exposure to asbestos while using John Crane gaskets and packing alongside a wide range of other products such as insulation.

After almost about 8 hours of deliberations, the jury established that William Pfeifer’s condition was caused mainly by the negligence of John Crane Inc. which failed to warn their customers and employees about the dangers of working with their products. This mesothelioma verdict will send out a very powerful message that companies cannot and should not take people’s lives and their rights for granted just for the sake of short term monetary benefits. Jay Steumke, lead counsel for the family notes that,  “Unfortunately, many companies today prioritize their short-term financial gain over the health and safety of their customers and the public. This jury sent a clear signal that companies like this will be held responsible.”
As per this mesothelioma verdict, $14.5 million was awarded towards punitive damages and $8.2 million was awarded towards compensatory damages.
