Dec. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Like the birds that escape the winter for warmer climates, sculptor Ken Newman of Cambridge, Idaho heads south for his ninth year at the Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale Arizona. In its 21st year, the Celebration of Fine Art continues to be a fusion of the best art galleries, art shows and working artist studios in the world.  100 of the finest contemporary artists flock annually to Arizona under the “Big White Tents” from January 15 - March 27, 2011.

“I am pleased to return for my ninth year at Celebration of Fine Art.” states Ken Newman. “There are several milestones in life, a critical one being ones 21st birthday. I invite you to join us in Scottsdale this winter. Let's celebrate together at the 21st Annual Celebration of Fine Art."

A wildlife wood and figurative bronze sculptor, Ken Newman recently won the Pietro and Afrieda Montana Memorial award at the Allied Artists of America exhibition at the National Art Club in NYC. Ken is a member of the National Sculpture Society, the Society of Animal Artists and several other art organizations, his sculptures have been juried in over 80 museums across the country. For many artists, working in a public setting seven days a week can be extremely challenging, but after nine years Ken says it is an integral part of his artistic journey.

“It is a privilege to be part of a show that encourages artists to share their thought process to people from around the world who love, enjoy and collect art.”

The Celebration of Fine Art has been called “One of the West’s Premier Art Events” by Art & Antiques magazine and recently won the Sterling Award for the Micro-Business of the Year by the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.

The art event runs over 10 weeks and hosts 100,000 visitors, with sales surpassing $5,000,000 annually.  “Our visitors can meet the artists in their studios and engage them in their creative process.” says show director Susan Morrow Potje. “Being able to watch artists create their art is part of what makes our show so unique.”

"I have driven past these tents for over 10 years on Scottsdale Blvd” said a Scottsdale resident after visiting the show for the first time, “and I never would have imagined the quality, diversity and the pleasure I would experience when meeting and talking to the artists so passionate about their work. The show is a true gem in the Valley!"

Whether you are a first time buyer, experienced collector, seasoned or emerging artist, the show is designed to promote a casual, friendly and approachable atmosphere for all.

Within the 40,000 square foot tent the show also features a sculpture garden, which is nearly an acre in size, and the Celebration Café which serves light fare.

The Celebration of Fine Art opens January 15 and runs seven days a week through March 27, 2011 from 10am to 6pm and is located in Scottsdale, Arizona on N Scottsdale Road, just south of the Loop 101 at Exit 34 under the Big White Tents.

Ticket price is $8.00 for adults and $7.00 for seniors and military. Children under 12 are admitted at no charge.   Tickets are valid for entrance for all 10 weeks.
