#1 Song on SIRIUS for Blue Moon Rising

Dec. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- Rural Rhythm Records is proud to announce BLUE MOON RISING’s first single, “Time To Be Movin’ On,” is the #1 Song on the Sirius-XM Bluegrass Junction’s Top 40 Most-Played Tracks, with the album, STRANGE NEW WORLD appearing at #5 on the Sirius-XM Bluegrass Junction Top 40 Most-Played Album charts this month.  “They are an exceptionally talented bunch of guys with a vision for great bluegrass making STRANGE NEW WORLD one of the best CDs I've heard all year,” said Kyle Cantrell, Sirius-XM Radio who recently featured the band on his popular Track by Track radio show.

"Time To Be Movin’ On” made an impressive debut at #10 on the Bluegrass Music Profiles (BMP) Top 30 Hot Singles chart for December with the album making the chart as well. STRANGE NEW WORLD hit #1 on the Roots Music Bluegrass Report (12/7/10); debuted at #9 on the BMP Top 20 Albums (Dec); remained at #5 album on Cashbox Magazine’s Top 20 Bluegrass Albums for the second month in a row; and appeared this month on Orin Friesen’s Bluegrass Top 40 Bluegrass Albums.

Another track from the album, “Living Water” has also been receiving tremendous airplay from numerous radio stations including appearing on the WBTX Radio’s Top 20 Playlist this month.  “Living Water” is an original song by Blue Moon Rising member, Chris West.  It was also recorded by his good friends and label mates, Brand New Strings and appears on their “NO STRINGS ATTACHED” album also released this year.  

STRANGE NEW WORLD includes the talents of BLUE MOON RISING members: Chris West (vocals, guitar);  Brandon Bostic (mandolin, vocals); Tony Mowell (bass and vocals); Owen Piatt (banjo); with special guests, Tim Crouch (fiddle) and Randy Kohrs (Dobro).  The CD combines a very eclectic mix of new original material with West contributing 7 of the 13 tracks.  Other writers include:  Brandon Bostic, Mike Dekle, Kevin Denney, Becky Buller, Jon Weisberger/Jeremy Garrett and Clint Wilson.
