Follow on Google News | New Firm Unveils Online Profile Service for African Businesses and IndividualsA Nigeria-based Internet company, Scoop Internet Services, has recently launched what is reputed to be Africa's foremost individual and company profile database on the web (www.ScoopAfrica.com).
By: Scoop Internet Services Commenting on the website, the Chief Administrative Officer and co-founder of the firm, Ayokunle Bankole, explained that ScoopAfrica offer investors, businesses, employers, and the media a unique opportunity to scoop into profiles of African professionals and companies listed on the website. He further stated that the website, which is different from the usual online business directories, is poised to re-defining the conventional 'company profile' and 'about us' links in websites, to a more relevant marketing tool. Bankole, revealed that in addition to the innovative profile service offered by ScoopAfrica, organizations also have access to other features such as job vacancy listing, discussion board, business and entrepreneurial articles, and comments from general site users who view their organisation's profile. Describing the website further, Bankole said: "ScoopAfrica's company profile listing service has come in two plans - Silver and Gold. While the Silver plan is free, individuals wishing to profile their organizations on the Gold plan shall have to pay an annual subscription fee." He, however, said the Gold option shall be free till Monday, January 31, 2011. This, according to the Bankole, will serve as Christmas and New Year gift to millions of small- and mid-sized businesses spread across the African continent, and has over the years yearned for a cost-effective advertising platform. Speaking on the new website, the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of the firm, Tunde Aniyi, also affirmed the company's resolve to provide a unique and cost-effective advertising platform to all categories of organizations and professionals across the African continent. He noted that small businesses shall have no excuse for not using the service which has been developed with them in mind. He added: "ScoopAfrica.com will not just be a profiling platform for companies alone, individuals can also create their personal professional profiles which can be used as a dynamic tool for job opportunities throughout Africa. Members can also interact with one another using the connection and chat features; they can read articles and other resources designed by our experts to help them grow; they can subscribe to ScoopAfrica's periodic newsletters among many other features." Aniyi disclosed that amongst plans to penetrate the African market in the year 2011, ScoopAfrica is considering plans to partner with some firms within and outside Nigeria.
