| Avalanche Records rolls into GrassmarketScotland’s largest independent high street record shop, Avalanche Records, is relocating to new larger premises at 5 Grassmarket, Edinburgh.
By: Ryden Acting on behalf of a private landlord, Ryden signed up Avalanche Records (represented by DM Hall) on a 10-year FRI lease. A stepped rental rising to £27,500 per annum was agreed on the 3,992 sq ft retail unit. Avalanche Records is relocating from Cockburn Street, where it has been based for 12 years, and owner Kevin Buckle said that it is a strategic move with the aim of creating a music hub in the Grassmarket. Will Biggart, surveyor at letting agent Ryden added: “Our client is pleased that we have secured such an established business as Avalanche Records. With nearby retailers Red Dog Music and The Lot, the Grassmarket is an ideal location for Avalanche Records, and Kevin’s vision of developing a music hub will certainly be beneficial to the area in the long run.” Avalanche Records sells a variety of indie/alternative music, hosts in-store gigs and is a drop in centre for local bands looking for advice. -ends- Notes to Editors Ryden is an independent commercial property firm operating a full-service practice.
