Lita Ford is an example of success and longevity in the music industry, and the moxy and drive that the height of fame requires. Named The Queen of Metal, Lita Ford has had an outstanding career spanning over 30 years. Perhaps best known for her hit singles Kiss Me Deadly and Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy Osbourne, Lita has earned a prominent place in Rock 'N' Roll history and continues to wow international fans today. Lita is currently recording and performing on huge world tours, in addition to her public appearances, performance, cameos, interviews, songs, and likeness appearing in popular films, television programs, cover albums, video games, comic book series, and documentaries on her career.
Lita Ford was a founding member and lead guitarist of the pioneering all-female rock group, The Runaways. Lita, along with band members Joan Jett, Sandy West, Jackie Fox, and Cherie Currie, not only proved that girls could rock, but that they could do it with the best of them. From the band's beginning to their eventual breakup in 1979, Lita Ford's guitar playing provided much of the force behind the band's ground-breaking sound. The Runaways have influenced countless musicians over the years, both male and female. Bands such as The Donnas, Bikini Kill, and L7 wear their influence as a badge of honor, while other all-female groups like The Bangles, The Go-Go's, or Precious Metal may not have had the opportunity to exist without the doors opened by The Runaways.
Lita Ford's solo career after The Runaways allowed her to pursue her interest in the hard side of rock 'n' roll and spawned 16 successful releases, including hit songs like "Kiss Me Deadly" (recently named one of the Best Hard Rock Songs of All Time by VH1), "Gotta Let Go," "Black Widow", "Shot Of Poison", "Hungry", "Only Women Bleed" and "Back To The Cave". Lita's most recent album Wicked Wonderland was written and produced by herself along with her husband Jim Gillette and Greg Hampton, and its 2009 release was met with much critical and fan acclaim. Lita headlined a world tour in 2009 and also performed on Queensryche's American Soldiers Tour. Currently Lita is writing and recording her new album.
The Jimmy Star Show is pleased to showcase the expertise and talent of Lita Ford and all anticipate a fun and informative time talking with Lita about herself, her music, the entertainment industries and the world.
