Dec. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Many online sites have benefited from the cold weather as they are experiencing increased sales levels this December compared to last year.

Marlon Russell, the Director of the online store Ruby Fruit said: “Although it’s bad news for high street retailers - who should be doing well during the festive season – it’s good news for us online retailers, customers will be staying at home and hopefully logging on to buy Christmas presents.”

Ruby Fruit is a bespoke children’s jewellery and keepsakes retailer that can design personalised jewellery for any occasion or taste. Marlon continued “I know a lot of people couldn't get to work last week either and some even this week, so people have been spending their time Christmas shopping online. Our site has definitely experienced an increase in visitors.”

It's reported that online sales are up 18% compared to last year with a record of over £290million set in one day and the average gift worth on average of £100. All records set are down to the severe weather Britain has been facing this winter, driving consumers to shop online and causing what can only be described as a Christmas buying frenzy.
