Park Place of Elmhurst Names Executive Director

Dec. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Park Place of Elmhurst is pleased to announce Don Engelsman as the new executive director of the Life Care senior living community now more than 80 percent reserved and under construction on 12 acres off Butterfield Road and Prospect Street in Elmhurst. With more than a decade of senior living experience, Engelsman is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Park Place of Elmhurst, scheduled to open in late 2011.

“Right now is a very exciting time for Park Place of Elmhurst staff and future residents, as construction progresses and our vision for the community is transformed into reality,” said Engelsman, who played an integral role in the development stages of Park Place of Elmhurst and will now be carrying that experience into the oversight of community operations. “There’s already been a great deal of interest from area older adults regarding the development of this community. In my new position, I’m looking forward to generating even more awareness regarding the lifestyle, benefits, services and amenities this Life Care community will offer.”

Prior to joining the Park Place of Elmhurst team, Engelsman spent more than 13 years with the planned community’s faith-based, not-for-profit sponsor Providence Life Services, in which he held multiple positions, including vice president of marketing for new developments, vice president of risk management and general manager of the Victorian Village campus.

Previously, he spent more than 20 years as owner and manager of Engelsman Insurance Agency and founder and partner of Century 21 Home Pros/Home Realty.
   
Engelsman is a member of American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, Life Services Network of Illinois and Assisted Living Federation of America. He serves on the board of directors for the Life Services Network Trust, and is certified as a national administrator for Assisted Living Federation of America. In addition, he has served as the elder and president of the council for Lombard Christian Reformed Church in Lombard, Ill., and executive committee board member of the Timothy Christian Schools in Elmhurst.

Engelsman received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from North Central College in Naperville, Ill.

Park Place of Elmhurst will offer maintenance-free living in 173 apartment homes, surrounded by an impressive array of amenities, including restaurant-style dining, a fitness center complete with indoor pool, creative arts studio, media room, club room and ample underground parking. The community will also take part in intergenerational programs through a partnership with neighboring Timothy Christian School.
