HR Bartender Sharlyn Lauby Wins Stevie Award for Blog of the Year

Writer and speaker Sharlyn Lauby was recognized with a Stevie Award for Blog of the Year in Business Services for HR Bartender. This is Lauby's first Stevie Award.
 
Dec. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Fort Lauderdale, FL – December 8, 2010 – Sharlyn Lauby, SPHR, publisher of HR Bartender and president of Internal Talent Management (ITM) Group, Inc. won the 2010 Stevie Award for Blog of the Year in Business Services.  The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an international competition recognizing the accomplishments of outstanding women executives, entrepreneurs, and the organizations they run.   The awards are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business AwardsSM.  

Lauby has developed HR Bartender to be a friendly place to discuss workplace issues.  A 20-year business professional specializing in human resources, she offers management tips and advice for business people who want to improve their leadership skills.  Launched in 2008, the blog has frequently been recognized as a leading industry publication.

In winning the Stevie, Lauby was selected from a field of more than 300 finalists.

A survey by HR Executive Magazine shows that 23% of HR Professionals read HR Bartender.  Lauby extends her HR Bartender voice to a broad online audience.  She was named one of the Top 25 Digital HR Influencers of 2009 and has been called the Most Influential HR Pro on Twitter.    In addition to her work on the blog, Sharlyn is a regular workplace article contributor to Mashable - the leading source for news in social and digital media, technology and web culture.

Finalists in the Stevie Award competition were chosen by business professional worldwide during preliminary judging in September and October.   Final judging was conducted by members of the awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors in late October to select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists.
