Dec. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- (Earlier story, update below)   New York, NY, United States (CNS) - As 2010 is about to end, names have been turning up for consideration to be TIME magazine's Person of the Year. Oddmakers at a betting website have begun placing bets on who will nab the prestigious title, with the Chilean miners taking the top spot and those names include US radio talker Mark Williams. has been monitoring the bets members are placing on the names of the most interesting characters of this year. Joining the 33 miners are LeBron James, Sarah Palin, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart, Nancy Pelosi, and Mark Zuckerberg.

According to the odds, the Chilean miners are likely to share the Person of the Year crown with 20 percent of likelihood.

Also in the running are Tea Party leader Mark Williams, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Former BP CEO Tony Hayward, and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Earlier this Fall Williams was named to the UK TELEGRAPH (London) "20 Most Influential Tea Party Figures in America" and that list was followed up days later by a similar list (also including Williams) in the NY DAILY NEWS. is a leading sportsbook with top management and line-makers collecting over 150 years of experience. TIME magazine's Person of the Year recognizes an individual or group of individuals who have had the biggest effect on the year's news.

Last year's Person of the Year was economist and U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

UPDATE: 3:00 PM PST:   Williams was #3 in the betting pool when TIME suddenly pulled his name and the entire TEA PARTY from the list.   Williams name still on betting line.
